The Housing Authority of the County of San Buenaventura (HACSB) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This is not the standard Assistant Project Manager position; this position works side-by-side with the Project Manager on high-impact initiatives that directly shape the future of affordable housing in the City of Ventura. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to support the development of affordable housing solutions that matter.

Your Role in Our Mission

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work closely with our Project Managers to move affordable housing and community development projects forward. You'll support projects from start to finish, ensuring timelines are met, documents are prepared, meetings run smoothly, and communication stays clear. Whether it's coordinating loan documents, helping with funding proposals, or tracking budgets and contracts, your work will directly contribute to creating stable, affordable homes in our community.

No two days will be exactly the same. One day you might be helping coordinate a construction loan draw or prepare a funding application. The next, you could be reviewing documents for a real estate transaction or ensuring that contractors, attorneys, and city agencies are aligned on a new housing project. You'll gain hands-on experience in affordable housing development while developing skills in coordination, analysis, and project management.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for someone with a blend of administrative skill, curiosity, and a heart for service. A background in housing, real estate, or community development is a plus, but not required. If you've earned an associate degree and have a couple of years of related experience-or a bachelor's degree in a related field-you may be the right fit.

You'll need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Comfort with spreadsheets, reports, and coordinating moving pieces is key. You'll also need a valid driver's license, as occasional travel to local sites is part of the job.
