Commercial Lender -

A local Virginia Bank is looking for a Commercial Lender to join its team!

This position handles and processes business loan applications, ensuring accuracy and smooth workflow. This includes originating, evaluating, and preparing loans in compliance with established guidelines. The role is responsible for marketing loan products, maintains loan relationships with borrowers, and develops new business in the surrounding community. This individual will be a part of a employee-centric culture and contribute to the bank's ongoing success. This position would lead in to a Market President role down the line.

Responsibilities:

Identify and cross-sell a wide range of commercial banking services by following a proactive sales and business development plan.
Develop new loans and manage the existing loan portfolio.
Build and nourish relationships with CRE and C&I Clients.
Maintain an ongoing business development program to assist existing customers and solicit new customers to the bank.
Monitor loan portfolio & loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect from past-due accounts.
Build a book of business specializing in commercial loans.
Take charge of hiring new employees and managing current employees at the branch.

Requirements:

Bachelor's in business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
5+ years experience in commercial lending
Strong business development and credit risk assessment skills
Must have a proven track record in business development
Experience and knowledge of Bank regulations regarding lending and debt collection
Must be willing to work on site.
