Compensation We Offer

  • The initial compensation for this position ranges from $21.82 - $28.89 per hour.
  • Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the minimum qualifications for the role and internal equity considerations.
  • The salary may also vary if you reside in a different location than the location posted.
  • 7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions*
  • $2,000 hiring incentive payout after 30 days and 6 months!*

About Our Program

The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program provides intensive mental health services to youth 10-18 years of age with severe mental health/substance abuse issues. These youth are at risk for greater hospitalization or homelessness and may be experiencing their first onset of a serious mental health condition. Others may have been in traditional mental health treatment services but now require a more extensive program

Job Summary

Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. Provides assistance in helping students complete their vocational and educational goals and requirements, accessing community resources, facilitating educational/vocational activities, educating clients and families on graduation requirements and supporting preparations for job and career development. Is responsible for assisting students with their study and rehabilitation skills in an effort to help them meet their education and career goals.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Assesses students’ interests, talents, aptitude, abilities, and personality characteristics for the purpose of vocational and educational planning to help youth establish appropriate academic and career goals.
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes student information through records, tests, interviews and professional sources to provide educational and vocational guidance and counseling.
  • Provides educational and vocational support and guidance in helping students with their education and vocational plans.
  • Attends and advocates for school services for the student at Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) or other meetings.
  • Compiles and studies occupational, educational, and economic information to aid students in making and carrying out educational and vocational objectives.
  • Assists individuals to understand and overcome social and emotional problems impacting their educational and vocational objectives.
  • Attends, supports and advocates for students and family members in academic and IEP meetings.
  • Refers students to placement services and other educational and vocational community resources.
  • Educates students about competitive work opportunities and offers direct placement services as appropriate to skill level and personal needs.
  • Provides long term job coaching for students to assist in work stability and retention.
  • Serves as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing assessment of student’s capabilities, capacities and reporting the status of work and educational goals.
  • Provides expertise, knowledge and information to the multidisciplinary team in areas related to work and educational trends, employment models, educational services, student profiles and demographic data as appropriate.
  • Serves as part of the on-call team, fulfilling all work requirements of the program.
  • Provides transportation to students as needed.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned, to support department/business needs.

Minimum Education And/Or Experience

  • OR Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) AND two (2) years related experience in a mental health/education/vocational setting required.
  • OR Master's Degree (MA/ MS) in a mental health related field AND one (1) years related experience in a metal health setting required.

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Speak, read, and/or write another language.
