Assist the fitness center manager in overseeing and coordinating the group fitness program, implementing fitness programs and workshops across the healthcare system. Work closely with the fitness center manager to provide the best experience and activities for caregivers while in the fitness centers and system wide.This is a Part Time, 20-hour a week position. The hours will fall during the day and early evening.Principal duties and responsibilities:Communicate with the Maintenance and Environmental Services Departments for facility upkeep and repairs.Work in partnership with Clinical Engineering and their vendor for equipment repair and maintenance.Maintain an inventory of equipment disinfectant supplies and replenish the stations in the exercise areas.Cleaning of exercise machinery and facilities when necessary.Coach caregiver members with exercise instruction, provide exercise prescription, and fitness plans.Rotation between the four centers may be required for staffing, events and presentations.Outreach and overseeing instructor presentations and programs for departments systemwide.Represent the fitness centers at tabling events.Collaborate with fitness instructors to schedule and coordinate class timetables.Ensure the quality and variety of group exercise offerings.Ensure proper group fitness equipment maintenance.Generate reports on class attendance and fitness programs.Assist the fitness center manager in hiring new instructors.Train new instructors including the Department and Position Specific Orientation Checklists and Day One.Coordinate and carry out marketing and promotional strategies.Gather participant feedback and performance metrics to assess program effectiveness.Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices,Education and experience requirements:High School Diploma.A Group Fitness Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized institution including, but not limited to ACE, ACSM, AFAA, ISSA, NETA. Can be obtained within the first year of employment.Fitness center experience working in various roles.CPR with AED certification.
