Overview: This position is responsible for assisting with surgical procedures in the Delivery Room for which she/he has been prepared within the scope of law. This position will function as an integral part of the nursing team in working with RN in caring for patients; and is self-directive providing sub-acute care or performing routine activities. The hospital provides scrubs as they would have to wear hospital laundered OR scrubs. No call or holidays required. No weekends required It would be great and preferred f they have ortho and/or neuro scrubbing experience but not required. large number of total joints and then minimally invasive spine like ACDF, posterior lumbar. Contract Length: Varies RTO: no more than 3 days Education & Certification: High School graduate or equivalent required. Must meet one of the requirements below as detailed in NJ Surgical Technology Certification Law effective December 21, 2011: Has successfully completed a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for surgical technologists OR Holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization OR Has completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps OR Provides evidence that the person was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility on the effective date December 21, 2011, OR Is in the service of the federal government, to the extent that individual is performing surgical technology duties related to that service. A minimum of 1 year of Scrub Technician experience preferred. The worker will receive three emails from Inspira. 1.TEAMS link for Monday which is a virtual orientation day. a. They will attend a Teams meeting and then continue the day with 'at your pace' modules. 2.Education to schedule their orientation classes. a. Classes take place Tuesday-Thursday, and the candidate MUST attend. If they try to reschedule or miss a class, they will not be able to complete their assignment. b.The POCT class is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd week of the assignment. Please ensure your worker has their POCT class date and remembers to attend. 3.HR Email- scheduling an ID Badge appointment and review policy/procedure. a. The ID badge is very important to obtain prior to their Orientation Shift. This is how the candidate clocks in and out, which is how invoicing/billing occurs! *Workers must be available for the full 7 days of their first week for Orientation. No special scheduling for Orientation is permitted.
